"Welcome to the Fairfield"
HOORAH!!!! The Fairfield is open again by John and Kerry on Sunday 10th May 2009. Below is the past and now, the present, so there are no reasons to rewrite it all again.
May everybody wish them good fortune in the forthcoming years with the job they do so well.
The Fairfield has been closed for about 3 months but will reopen hopefully soon. It was to be on the 29th August 2008 with a new management. However, today,9th October 2008 the place is still not open. [Something to look forward to at Christmas I guess.]
'The Fairfield' where I can be found at the bar from 10:00 pm EVERY night.
Past history is below.
Earlier in the year of 2003, it was going through a facelift and in all intents and purposes it is finished. Since then, it has now a new owner in the names of the Landlady, Kerry and partner John, who were married on the 17th September 2004 as seen below.
Staff are also named as Vicky, Kerry W, Kelly, Michelle and Claire. I have also been asked to add Gail, (Kerry 'O' and Vicky's) sister. You have to understand, families are very dear to them, and so it should be for all of us!
The Bitter is Boddingtons and John Smiths, Mild is Whitbreads, Lagers are Stella Artois, Fosters and Castlemaine 4 X along with Guinness and Strongbow cider. These beers are always well kept and the pub has now in general got a very happy atmosphere, not as it used to be where the usual clientele were leaving in droves through previous bad management, but are now beginning to return.
On Friday nights the Karaoke is on, with Outlaw Karaoke and sometimes other Karaokes. There is usually a good crowd in and all have a go at singing, with some better than others and there is always a very happy atmosphere.
The BIG screen is always there for football, golf, tennis, cricket, horse racing and any sport that I have missed out.
When one visits, there is also a warm welcome from 'Buster' the pub dog, a cross Alsatian and Rottwieler 'But don't be alarmed'. If you are a stranger, he will (sniff) you out and next time you return, he will know who you are. However, the patrons should NOT! feed him with crisps, etc. we all know how bad the salt is for dogs, though he will chase you for them. His favourite snack!????????.
Although it has always been an EVERTON supporters pub Kerry has her own little motto, as below........
The Road to Life.
I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good I can do or any kindness I can give, let me do it now for I may not pass this way again......................
